Glass-walled passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) are set to make a long-awaited impact on the US airport market as safety objections have largely been overcome and the price differential between glass and steel has narrowed. Killeen/Fort Hood Regional Airport in Texas became in April 2008 the first US airport to deploy glass PBBs when ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems supplied two units. Enver Sarilar, director of sales, told Jane's that six more were recently ordered by Amarillo International Airport, also in Texas.
