Europe grasps second chance to implement datalink

A plan to implement datalink services in upper European airspace by February 2015 began to slip as early as 2013, when users identified an unusually high number of disconnections - known as Provider Aborts (PAs) - between the ground communications infrastructure and airborne avionics using baseline VHF Data Link Mode 2 (VDLM2) technology.
