E-gate deployments grow in Middle East

Airports in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) intend to accelerate passenger flow in 2018 with deployment of additional automated e-gates, Jane's has learned. A total of 20 e-gates will be installed at Hamad International Airport to operate alongside 19 previously installed e-gates for arrivals and 21 for departures. Airport officials said 2.46 million passengers used these gates in 2017, compared with 1.41 million in 2016.
