A new design for a 'smart suitcase', storing check-in data and an electronic bag tag, will be unveiled at Hamburg Airport in mid-2015 before a full rollout in 2016. "Everyone will have smart luggage in the future," insisted Jan Reh, CEO of Bag2Go, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of German suitcase manufacturer, Rimowa. He argued that the cost of providing the technology will decrease significantly once the suitcases are adopted in the market.
