In advance of the European ban on the use of disposable plastic cutlery, plates and straws coming into force in July 2021, Californian company EcoTensil is launching AquaDot, a range of patented, recyclable and compostable cardboard cutlery, also in the Old Continent. Made of certified cellulose pulp from sustainably managed forests, with a simple "Bend to touch dots™" fold, EcoTensil turns into sturdy pallets. The collapsible design is designed to fit into popular take-out packages, without having to change existing packaging processes. Unlike wood compostable alternatives, AquaDot cutlery does not alter the taste of food and is smoother, providing a pleasant sensory experience.
