摘要

I really need to thank to Editorial Board of ISIJ and especially Dr. Len Beitelman for giving opportunity to say a little bit more concern progress of electromagnetic stirrer. Our publication, which was placed in present ISIJ issue, is, just a part of our wide investigation, elaboration and building of electromagnetic stirring systems for continuous billet/bloom casting. The publication devoted to the next development of glance invention of Joseph Mulcahy-to Dual mold electromagnetic stirrer. This kind of mold electromagnetic stirrer provides the suppression of the meniscus disturbance and thus, elimination of numerous well-known troubles with ingot quality that connected with it. Technology of dual electromagnetic In-mold stirring is based on the application of couple electromagnetic torques simultaneously-to main bulk of liquid steel in the billet/bloom and counter (brake) torque-directly to the meniscus portion of liquid steel in the mold.
