Creating XML Documents with RPG and DOM

In "use DOM and the XML toolkit to Process XML with RPG" (February 2007, article ID 20804 at SystemiNetwork.com), I used RPG and the DOM API provided by the XML Toolkit for iSeries to read an XML document and write the contents to some DB2 tables. The other side of this story is using RPG and the same DOM API to create an XML document. Creating an XML document means serializing the in-memory DOM representation, or writing it to a file, and then optionally validating the contents.
