"As the situation in our home markets was getting more and more difficult, we decided to think outside the box and take into consideration opportunities abroad", explains Stefan Troyer, Technical Director, owner of the company and grandson of the founder Valentin Troyer. „ Guatemala soon became a realistic option, not only because of the favourable conditions in the country, but also because of existing ties with the country. In 2001, we realized the installation of two Francis turbines with a total of 5.7 MW rated power at the Palm Ⅱ power plant in Guatemala. The excellent contacts to the local industry, especially to the Schloesser family who runs an import/export company for the textile and plastics industries, helped us a lot to develop this project and finally get the order for the Guayacan project."
