Geographically-speaking, Iberia and Latin America are not exactly neighbours - but the inhabitants of the two regions not only share a common past, but also the same languages and the cultures that arose from them. The people are thus more closely connected to each other than many populations that live in each other's immediate regional neighbourhood.
