Mercitalia, the Italian state-owned railway group Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane's subsidiary for freight operations, has recently become ever-more active abroad. Thus it did not come as a great surprise to hear the news in September that TX Logistik, a subsidiary of the subsidiary, is now headed by the Italian Gian Paolo Go-telli. He was previously head of Mercitalia Rail (see also page 8 of ITJ 39-40/2019). His nomination was accompanied by an exhortation to "transform TX Logistik into the central pillar of the Mercitalia Group's international orientation."
