In September the 3rd World Nomad Games (WNG) took place in Cholpon-Ata, 200 km east of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The relatively modest event triggered a new service. In association with Abu Dhabi's department of culture and tourism, Flydubai Cargo supported the UAE's participation in the event and flew two Saluki dogs and seven falcons to the competition. Now the state-owned airline has launched a live animal transport service in its network. Low-cost carrier Flydubai Cargo' vice-president Mohamed Hassan said that "we've focused on offering customers reliable and efficient cargo solutions ever since we began operating in 2012." The latest project, for the WNG, a major Central Asian sports and cultural meeting, underlined the ability of the state-owned carrier to handle live animals appropriately, the vice-president added. The WNG take place every two years. This year, more than 2,000 athletes from 80 countries participated.
