Germany's giant mail and logistics service provider Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN) announced that its second quarter sales in the current year rose by 5% from EUR 15.436 billion in Q2/20007 to EUR 16.211 billion.However,the operating profit sank by 4.4% from EUR 703 million to EUR 672 million.The profit followed suit and slumped by 10.9% from EUR 285 million in Q2/2007 to EUR 254 million.rnIn the first six months of the current year,Deutsche Post was able to boost its turnover by 3.4% from EUR 30.909 billion in H1/2007 to EUR 31.959 billion.The company was forced to accept a drop in earnings before interest and tax (ebit) and net profit.The operating result fell by 10.5% from EUR 1.701 billion to EUR 1.523 billion,and the net profit sank by 15.7% from EUR 784 million to EUR 661 million.
