As a renewable energy source wind energy, or wind power, is an important pillar for the transition to renewable energy that many people aspire to - along with solar energy (photovoltaics). Between the two the former usually performs better, because wind plants supply power even op days when the sun does not shine, and therefore deliver electricity in both summer and winter.
