In May the US rail enterprise Union Pacific announced plans to engage in massive investment in its railway network in the US federal states of Utah, Oklahoma and Wyoming. In the latter state the corporation is aiming to invest approximately USD 2.8 million in renovating bridges, and USD 38 million in its railtrack network. The latter sum has been earmarked for the refurbishment of more than 126,000 railway sleepers and the laying down of approximately 61,000 t of broken rocks on railtracks.
