High production and high speed have long been the most important factors in carpet weaving. Recently, a new aspect in the production has become important: flexibility. Carpet weavers want to weave different styles and qualities, and to change quickly, so that flexibility is now at least as important as productivity. Developments in raw materials contribute positively to this new trend. New dyeing techniques, chemical compounds, treatments etc. improve the quality and increase the choice of raw material.
