摘要

Wind power generation as a green and cost-effective electric power resource is the best candidate for solution of energy and environmental crisis. Because of inherent intermittency of wind power generation, there are many concerns with the impacts on reliability indices. Hence, the basic aim of this work is the implementation of an intelligent procedure to solve reliability constrained unit commitment (RCUC) problem with wind penetration. Both economical and environmental purposes are considered in objective function formulation besides a constraint on reliability included to common formulation of UC problem. rnNumerical results show a considerable reduction in operation cost and emission, the risks of high levels of dependency on wind power generation should be also investigated deeply to prevent contingencies and reliability challenges in power system.
