摘要

In this paper the electromagnetic and thermal analysis of permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine (PMA-SynRM) is presented for flywheel energy storage applications. The 2D-FEM thermal model is used to evaluate the transient and steady stated thermal behavior of PMA-SynRM under different operating conditions. The transient coupled load finite element analyses are performed to approximate the value of power loss in different part of machine. The dimensionless empirical heat transfer correlations analysis is used to predict the heat transfer coefficient of all convection surfaces in the machine. The temperature distribution of individual components in the motor is obtained after the thermal analysis. The effect of the fluid velocity and external frame manufacturing on heat exchange and overload capability of PMA-SynRM is studied.
