Siemens launches peoplemover

Siemens Mobility CEO Mr Hans-Joerg Grundmann and Mr Robert Lohr, president of Lohr Group, France, unveiled their new Airval fully-automated rubber-tyred peoplemover at the UITP Congress. Airval is a modular system which can be supplied as a single car or in trains of up to six cars. This equates to a design capacity of between 1000 and 30,000 passengers/h/ direction.rnAirval, and its urban rail equivalent Cityval, is thernresult of a research project called Neoval designed to develop a new-generation Val driverless system. Both Airval and Cityval can run at one-minute headways and at an operating speed of 80km/h with faster acceleration and braking than Val.
