Rff Awards Gsm-r Contract

French Railway Network (RFF) has chosen TDF, a consortium of Vinci Energy, Vinci Concessions, French telecommunications group SFR and AXA Investment Managers Paris as its preferred bidder for a 15-year concession to fund and install GSM-R across the network. The deal, which is worth around €1 billion, is the first major public-private partnership on the French railway network, and involves the installation of GSM-R covering 14,000km by 2014. The contract is divided into capital investment, and operations and maintenance.
