Meeting the challenges of Ormen Lange

The successful installation of all three subsea templates in the deepwater area of the Ormen Lange field in Norway saw a number of industry records and technical firsts. From a technical point of view, it was the first ever subsea construction project to fully utilise Sonardyne International's Fusion Wideband LBL system as the primary subsea acoustic positioning system. But how did the use of this new technology come about in such a complex and demanding project as Ormen Lange?
