This edited collection focuses on understanding geographies of race and racism within the specific context of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. The editors' explicit intention in producing it was to develop a historicized perspective that recognizes the legacies of contemporary-discourses and imaginaries and how histories are reworked in various presents. The authors also express the clear aim of the collection to recognize the centrality of race and ethnicity in British politics. The collection is divided into three parts, each of which clearly reflects the authors' intentions.
