摘要

The impact of the Information Technology (IT) innovation process on human performance in Civil Aviation has attracted over the years an amazing wealth of research addressing issues relevant to several areas of research like Human Factors, Cognitive engineering, Cognitive ergonomics, Computer Supported Cooperative Work. Both controllers and pilots have been excellent "subjects" to address issues of individual and social cognition in "applied settings". Their strengths (decision making, coping with uncertainties, with novelties, etc.) and weaknesses (errors, lack of sustained vigilance, biases, resistance to change, etc.) have been the object of rigorous experiments, simulations, or naturalistic observations. This wealth of research has addressed not only issues of "cognition in the wild" but also issues of interaction design and human-system interaction, strengthening, for example the view that "users" have to be in the design loop since its early phases.
