Applications performance over Ka-band high data rate ATM satellite link

Multimedia networks continue to be implemented worldwide, and their capacity is rapidly increasing. Satellite communication systems are being developed that will be able to carry traffic at a much higher capacity; they will be applicable to many kinds o applications. The Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) is researching and developing the satellite communication systems with gigabit capacity and is testing ATM-based high data rate (HDR) satellite communications by using currently operating satellites.
