Wind power is a well-known renewable energy which produces part of the energy in the world. However, wind parameters are not adequately suitable everywhere to build an economical wind power plant. The first step in developing a wind power plant is the feasibility study of converting the produced energy by wind into a useful form of energy using wind turbines. In this paper, a windy criterion in Iran was selected as a case study for determining the best height for installing the power plant. For the selected site, the power produced by wind is statistically analysed. The average wind speed in Urmia at the height of 10 m is 8.17m/sec and available wind power density is calculated as 1,132 W/m~3. In addition, the height of 30 m is determined as the best height for installing the wind farm and available and accessible wind power is determined for 12 months separately.
