Recently, several three-dimensional (3-D) sterepgraphic-type display systems that require both horizontal and vertical parallax images have been invented. In this paper, we propose a system to capture the parallax images for these display systems. Our system is based on the rotation of a CCD camera with respect t a 3-D object for parallax image capturing. The mathematical relationship between the parallax images to be displayed and the images captured by the CCD camera is derived. With this relationship, the 3-D object can be displayed anywhere in the space. We can also easily animate different 3-D objects into a single scene through this relationship
