In what it calls "a major step toward paperless healthcare", Ricoh Americas Corporation unveiled the Ricoh Multifunction Product (MFP) for Healthcare with Inofile ChartMD March 4 at the HIMSS 2013 Annual Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans. The integrated hardware/software solution is designed to streamline the conversion of loose filings and patient charts - such as consent forms, lab results, treatment forms, physician notes and order requests - into digital files, ready for upload to electronic medical records (EMR) systems. In general, 80 percent of information captured is in unstructured, paper-based forms/input.
