Innovation, Markets and Sustainable Energy: The Challenge of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells

Energy and sustainability have been on the agendas of all kinds of institutes in the recent years. There have been an enormous number of studies exploring models of sustainable energy alternatives. This book specifically focuses on hydrogen economy and the fuel cell technology. It is one of the rare studies that actually provides a complete technology assessment framework for many other emerging energy alternatives and validates it through the analysis of the fuel cell technology. The authors review the technology along three perspectives. The first one is the technical perspective which Linstone describes in his multiple perspectives approach. The authors call it an overview, however it is really the analysis of the technology from a technical perspective which some also call as the rational aspect of the technology. The second perspective is the personal perspective again from Linstone's approach. The authors prefer the diffusion of technological innovation which actually is expressed through analyzing the components of different factors and their role in the adoption and diffusion process. Finally the political perspective reviews the policies around the world which matches with the organization perspective as defined by Linstone.
