This book is based upon the premise that the greater our understanding of the nuances of the workplace, the greater our capability to devise work environments that encourage and facilitate learning, communication, and knowledge transfer. Beamish proposes that the best way to increase learning and improve communication in complex organisations is to apply design thinking-which she argues is the only approach that can result in the type of innovative and effective solutions required to overcome the inherent structural, procedural, and political barriers.
