Editorial

In this issue we are pleased to welcome the UK Academy for Information Systems (UKAIS) who have provided a Special Section from their 2012 Conference 'Innovating Information Systems'. It begins with an editorial by David Wainwright and Laurence Brooks Northumbria University, which gives a comprehensive review of the conference, keynote speakers and main panel sessions. This is followed by three selected papers providing different perspectives on innovation within the IS discipline.
