Self-lubricating system for Kaplan trunnion and guidevane bushings

The Karon self-lubricating liner system can offer advantages in Kaplan trunnion and guidevane bushing applications, eliminating the need for grease and oil, while offering a reliable low-friction bearing interface. The Karon liner system is usually used to replace existing greased bronze bushings which have been worn excessively, or to reduce the friction in an existing system. The system is designed to withstand the pressures and conditions associated with Kaplan hub and guidevane bushing operation. The Karon material is a polyester resin, with Teflon and other ingredients. The system is self-adhering and covers 100 per cent of the bearing surfaces.
