KGAL advises on 19th century lock gate upgrades

Scottish Canals, the public corporation of the Scottish Government responsible for managing inland waterways, is considering improvements to the 40 pairs of lock gates on its Caledonian Canal, which connects the east coast of Scotland at Inverness with the west coast near Fort William. The gates were mechanized between 1964 and 1969.
