The start of commissioning of Baihetan follows the beginning of full commercial service of the 10.2 GW Wudongde hydropower station on the river Jinsha. All twelve 850 MW units at the Wudongde plant were commissioned on 16 June, according to the state owner-operator and developer China Three Gorges Corporation (CTGC), following the completion of 72 hours of testing.
