Romande Energie tenders civil works for Glarey plant, Switzerland

Switzerland-based power supplier Romande Energie invites bids by 14 June for the civil works for the Glarey hydropower project to be built in the commune of Bex in the southwestern canton of Vaud. The tendered works entail the civil engineering for this new project from a new storage restitution basin being developed for the upstream Bevieux project, which is under construction, and which will serve as a loading basin for the Glarey plant, to the tailrace channel downstream into the river Avancon. The works will entail the supply and installation of a new concrete penstock with a steel core, the associated civil engineering works, the construction of the new powerplant in reinforced concrete with pile foundations, and the construction of the tailrace channel. Romande Energie, the leading power producer in the Swiss region of Romande, owns a total of 30 hydroelectric plants mainly in the cantons of Vaud and Valais, which produce about 600 GWh per year.
