Phase transformations in Ti_2Cu during destructive hydrogenation

摘要

The Ti_2Cu interaction with hydrogen is determined to be possible in the destructive hydrogenation (DH) region. The Ti_2Cu DH process is realized at the temperatures 373, 473, 573, 773 and 973 K. Its products were titanium dihydride and copper-rich with regard to Ti_2Cu intermetallic phases as well as the copper against the absorbed hydrogen amount. The mechanism of the Ti_2Cu destructive hydrogenation consists in the following: hydrogen selectively interacts with titanium which leaves from the Ti_2Cu composition, according to the scheme: p-TiH_y (bet-bec) -> TiH_(1.92) (fee). The copper-riched intermetallic phases form after such titanium amounts leaves from Ti_2Cu composition which support the formation of a new Ti:Cu stoichiometric ratio according to the Ti-Cu state diagram.
