摘要

This volume is the Fifth IJHRB 'Architecture and Urban Planning' special issue. In this volume, we keep on discussing the Sustainable Dense Urban Habitat topic which CTBUH paid more attention during the last few years through two sections. The first section focuses on the urban design of dense habitat which includes 4 papers. Prof. Yong Chen and his student Meilun Yuan analysis of factors influencing street vitality in high-density residential areas based on multi-source data. Prof. Yongjie Cai and his students Na Huang, Mingyu Zhuang, Yi Zhou, Jun Zhou share their research on the spatial regeneration for preservation of historic urban features and improvement of living conditions in high-density historic districts. Prof. Minghui Xue and his students bring a research on renewal strategies of existing underground commercial space in Harbin. Prof. Nannan Dong and Mrs. Fang Huang construct an assessment model of vertical greenery in seven types in urban complex, and suggests an optimized approach to vertical greenery in an urban complex.
