摘要

Performance testing of floating wick basin type vertical multiple effect diffusion solar still with waste heat recovery (FW-BVMED-HR) was done, under outdoor conditions. The cumulative efficiency of the four effect FW-BVMED-HR increases by 33%, when the gap between partition plates is decreased from 16 mm to 10 mm. The cumulative efficiency decreases by 27% as the feed rate increases from 0.27 g/m(2)/s to 0.38 g/m(2)/s. Increase of basin water depth had little effect on the cumulative efficiency of the still. The cumulative efficiency increased by 58% when the number of effects was increased from 2 to 7.
