Species distribution and diversity, habitat selection and connectivity: introduction to the Third Special Issue on Spatial Ecology

摘要

This is the Third Special Issue on Spatial Ecology in the International Journal of Geographical Information Science, with the first being published in 2011 (issue 3 of volume 25; Skidmore et al. 2011) and the second in 2012 (issue 11 of volume 26; Laffan et al. 2012). Spatial ecology addresses the effect of spatial patterning on ecological processes (Skidmore et al. 2011) and the papers in this special issue both address new topics and advance the themes of the preceding special issues.
