摘要

A novel and effective algorithm based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique is presented for solving the non-convex economic dispatch problem (EDP). This PSO based economic dispatch (PSOBED) algorithm utilizes a linear inertia weight to effectively explore the solution space both globally and locally. To validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented algorithm, experiments were carried out on three different test systems. It is demonstrated that, the PSOBED algorithm for non-convex EDPs generates quality solutions quickly, reliably and effectively.
