摘要

Meters are required to be installed throughout the system, so that the operating states can be observed. Under deregulation, the cost of installing meters is a great concern to the utility companies, while the goal of better monitoring and controlling the distribution systems cannot be compromised. At the same time to ensure electricity transactions there are more and more switching actions and topology changes throughout the network. As a result, reduction of the cost of installing any new meters in the existing power network becomes an important task. The goal of this work is to review the literature on Distribution Meter Placement Algorithms and proposed the artificial intelligence algorithms to solve the meter placement problem under various constraints. The results from tests on IEEE and the state electricity board distribution systems are presented. The effectiveness and flexibility of proposed algorithms are demonstrated by validating the results with mathematical technique.
