THE EFFECT OF CONSERVATION PRACTICES ON PROTECTING SOIL AND WAER QUALITY

Soil degradation from erosion and the attendant deterioration in water quality associated with agricultural production are significant prWITH AIR MOVEMENT FROM HOT ENVIRONMENT#GUOHAI XU#SATORU KUNO#MASAHIKO TANAKA#37-44#The purpose of this paper is to investigate and confirm the effect of fluctuaing air movement under slightly warm environment in summertiime.At the first three experiments conducted in summer form 1995 to 1997 were reported and discussed respectively.The experimental results showed that the fluctuating air movement was cooler and moer comforable than the constant one under the same SET* value.The effect of rn, soybean, and winter wheat production show that conservation practices are still not widely adopted, although they are more prevalent on HEL used in the production of com and soybeans than on NONHEL. Winter wheat remains an anomaly. There are a number of things that can be done to promote Mer the increased use of conservation practices. Among the public policies that can be used to affect the choices of conservation practices are education and technical assistance, financial assistance, research and development, land retirement, and regulation and tuxes.
