We are glad to present the special issue of the International Journal of Electronic Governance on Methodologies, Technologies and Tools enabling e-Government, guest-edited by Barbara Re, University of Camerino, Italy and Marino Miculan, University of Udine, Italy, which opens the 8th volume of UEG. Our guest editors' introduction and the research papers that follow cover a number of interesting developments in e-government R&D which we invite you to peruse.
