Private television companies, offering free-to-air and/or pay-television services, operate in a rapidly evolving media environment. This environment is characterized by innovation and changing media practices, which is often dreaded by legacy media. 'Innovation is about change. Media products and services are changing. The processes of production and distribution of media are changing. The ownership and financing of media are changing. The roles of users are changing. And our ideas of media are changing' (Storsul and Krumsvik 2013:13).
