E-Government solutions are meant to ensuring a more connected infrastructure across federal, state, and local government organizations. The applications that provide E-governance solutions can be categorized into application families. For example, all applications related to the Land Registration can be called as Land Registration Application Family. The applications of a family generally have common requirements but they differ slightly. The product-line architecture captures the essential commonality in the product-line and provides for flexibility and adaptability for specific requirements. Even though there are few independent applications generated for the state government, so far no product line architecture has been evolved by either the solution providers or any government organizations of India. Hence in this work, a Product Line Architecture for the application families of the E-Governance solutions has been developed. This work also initiates the research on product line architecture for E-Governance applications. The domain engineering is applied for collecting, organizing and storing past experiences in building systems in the form of reusable assets The Feature-Oriented Domain Analysis (FODA) has been used in this project to identify all the common and variation features among the application families. The software components required for the proposed product line architecture are developed in the form of framework. This framework is implemented in Visual Basic (ActiveX DDL).
