Delay (Disruption, Disconnection) Tolerant Networksrn(DTNs) are sparse networks with intermittent connectivity.rnThey play a growing important role in various communicationrnsystems including vehicular networks, mule networks,rninterplanetary networks, sensor networks and mobile ad hocrnnetworks as well as in networks operating under extremernconditions. Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are based onrnstore-carry-forward techniques in order to compensate forrnintermittent link connectivity. The intermittent connectivityrnpattern (deterministic or probabilistic) is affected by thernnetwork nodes mobility. The End-to-End (E2E) delay performancernis mainly affected by the dynamics of the underlyingrnnetwork topology, the routing algorithm, and the traffic load.rnIn this paper, we develop an analytical model that incorporatesrnthe link intermittent distribution along with a tandem queuingrnmodel to determine the E2E delay performance under variousrntraffic conditions and links disruption distributions.
