Surgical intervention in children with Crohn’s disease

Crohn’s disease (CD) causes chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract leading to extensive medical treatments and surgery with two thirds of patients having surgery over their lifetime. In this study, we reviewed the pediatric population at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital diagnosed with CD and examined their demographics and treatments, in particular assessing those who ultimately underwent surgery.
