In his discussion of self-expression in classroom interaction, Baraldi (2008) argues for the importance of facilitating meaningful dialogue with and amongst children in the classroom setting. He suggests that self-expression is integral to self-socialisation and stresses the importance of the use of dialogic strategies in encouraging children's active participation in learning.
