摘要

A new tool path generation method is presented for tool radius compensation to deal with 3D curves machining on polar coordinates. An algorithm is suggested that consists of interference correcting, undercut region avoiding, and initial interference-free tool path generating. At the beginning, the numerical copy-milling machining data of the shoe last is introduced. Aside from a theoretical analysis, the feasibility of the method is demonstrated by machining a shoe last on the copy-milling machine controlled with an in-house-developed open architecture CNC. This algorithm is very practical for the space curve turning machining.
