摘要

This paper presents the latest AIR LIQUIDE innovations for large glass melting furnaces. First AIR LIQUIDE has developed a new burner to go further into NOx emissions minimization and heat transfer flexibility: ALGLASS SUN~(TM) burner, which relies on a large separation of the fuel and oxidant streams. First tests of this technology in pilot and industrial furnaces have let appear a flexible and soft flame particularly adapted to glass process with a positive impact on glass quality and wall temperatures. AIR LIQUIDE has also developed some new numerical tools in particular a 1D software called GLASS 1D which enables to more efficiently orientate the start-up of 3D calculations. Finally, the third axis of development followed by AIR LIQUIDE is heat recovery in oxy fuel furnaces and especially the indirect preheating of the reactants with metallic recuperators.
