Belgian gas company Distrigas saw turnover jump 32.4% in Q1 2008 to E∪D1.741 billion ($2,693 billion), an increase of E∪D426million from the same period in 2007. Sales were 61.5 TWh during Ql 2008, an increase of 8.3% compared with the first quarter of 2007, the company said. But Distrigas, which has seen sales in its home market Belgium decrease as the market has liberalized, struck a cautious note when explaining its quarterly results.rn"This evolution is mainly due to to the increased contribution of the arbitrage activity - for approximately half- and a significant increase in the energy prices which determine the purchase and sale price of the natural gas," the company's statement said.
