Alaska's governor, Sarah Palin, has called a special session of the Alaska Legislature beginning June 3 to consider a state license for the North Slope gas pipeline developer.rnPalin also said she would in mid-May release the state's findings on the pipeline application by TransCanada. The Calgary-based company's proposal was one of five applications the state received in response to a solicitation and the only proposal that qualified under the state's Alaska Gasline Inducement Act. One of the majors, ConocoPhillips, whose gas needs an export route, submitted a plan which did not meet with Alaska's terms.
